The TUMO Astana center will open at the alem.ai International Artificial Intelligence Center and will become part of the global TUMO network—an innovative educational program for teenagers operating in dozens of countries worldwide and recognized as one of the most effective models of non-formal technology education.
At TUMO Astana, teenagers will be able to study for free across 11 disciplines, including generative artificial intelligence, robotics, programming, graphic design, animation, filmmaking, digital music, 3D modeling, web development, game development, and motion graphics. The educational process is built around an in-person, hands-on format. Students work on real projects, set their own learning pace, and receive mentor support. The effectiveness of this model has been confirmed by an international study conducted by the consulting firm Dalberg.
In addition to technical skills, TUMO develops essential soft skills such as teamwork, initiative, empathy, communication, and time management. Learning is based on the personalized TUMO Path self-learning trajectory and also includes practical workshops and labs with experts from different countries.
The project is implemented by Alem.ai Foundation, a subsidiary organization of Astana Hub, and is aimed at nurturing a new generation of technological and creative talent in Kazakhstan.
“We want teenagers in Astana to have a place they can come to without selection or exams—just with an interest in technology. TUMO gives them the opportunity to try, make mistakes, create, and find their own path,” said Adina Maratovna, CEO of Alem.ai Foundation.
Enrollment at TUMO Astana is open-access, with no testing or competitive selection. The program will be of interest both to those who are just beginning to explore technology and to teenagers who already want to systematically develop their skills and build their own digital portfolios.
