Kazakhstan to Secure Its Place in the $4.8 Trillion AI Market – BAQ.KZ

The UN Conference on Trade and Development forecasts that by 2033, the global artificial intelligence market will reach $4.8 trillion. In an interview with BAQ.KZ, Danabek Kaliazhdarov, tech expert and advisor to the CEO of Astana Hub, explained how this will affect the Kazakh market.

According to Kaliazhdarov, reaching a global AI market volume of $4.8 trillion by 2033 will be one of the greatest breakthroughs in the history of technological development.

“Kazakhstan should not remain on the sidelines of this process. As part of the global market, the country will directly feel the impact of any worldwide innovations in artificial intelligence. The Astana Hub ecosystem is already striving to act as a regional hub to fully leverage these opportunities. Today, among our startups, there are projects that have gained international recognition — for example, Arlan Biotech in medicine and Higgsfield AI in content generation. Attracting investment into such projects, adapting technologies to the local market, and exporting them — all of this will allow Kazakhstan to secure its place in the global AI market,” the tech expert noted.

He emphasized that Kazakhstan should be among the countries benefiting from AI.

If Japan and Korea found their place in technological innovation in the 20th century, we must also make the most of this window of opportunity.

“The global growth of AI will primarily create conditions for a significant increase in labor productivity across various sectors of the economy. This will affect not only the tech sector but also medicine, education, logistics, energy, and manufacturing. For example, in agriculture, data analytics can improve efficiency and crop yields, while in healthcare, early diagnostics systems can contribute to better population health. The innovation environment created at Astana Hub enables startups and entrepreneurs to take their ideas from prototype to market launch,” he added.

The expert also highlighted the record-breaking success of Kazakh school students at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence IOAI 2025.

“The Kazakh national team delivered one of the best results, winning 3 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals. This proves that our human capital is ready to seize these opportunities. The success at IOAI 2025 is the result of systematic work by mentors, support for educational initiatives, and the growing number of young specialists ready to shape the future of artificial intelligence today,” he said.
