This leading international platform will gather government officials from EAEU countries, prominent experts, and entrepreneurs to discuss the prospects for innovation development and the digital agenda of EAEU member states. The VII Forum will also feature the Industry 4.0 AI Battle – a large-scale competition to determine the best AI startup, as well as an exhibition showcasing Kazakhstan's largest subsoil users, industrial startups, technoparks, and technology companies sharing their experience and projects in the IT ecosystem.
Digital Almaty 2025 will focus on breakthrough changes in the industrial sector and the impact of AI on the future of the global industry. AI technologies are becoming a key driver of efficiency, security, and sustainability in production processes. The application of Industrial AI for automation, forecasting, and optimizing complex production chains opens new horizons for intelligent management in the industrial sector. More than 40,000 people are expected to attend the two-day digital event.
"The 7th Digital Almaty will present an extensive business program covering topics such as AI integration in industrial ecosystems, economy, and finance, ESG, medicine, education, and cybersecurity. AI solutions will be offered at the Forum, which will transform industries, including the development of 'smart' factories, modernization, and automation within the framework of Industry 4.0," said Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry.
Recognized by global experts, Digital Almaty last year brought together over 300 speakers. There is growing interest in domestic digital solutions from other countries. This is evidenced by the participation of approximately 70 experts from foreign countries in 47 panel sessions, including digital ministers from several countries. Alongside the discussion platforms, the Forum featured an exhibition presenting digital projects from around 230 domestic and international IT companies, as well as leading global experts on digitalization.
Digital Almaty-2024 was a significant opportunity for establishing partnerships and sharing expertise in digitalization. About 60 B2B meetings and more than 50 pitch sessions took place between subsoil users and startups.
As a result of the Forum, around 30 memorandums were signed. For instance, Freedom Holding Corp. signed a memorandum with the Executive Directorate of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. During the forum, Timur Turlov presented the "Eco-cards to Support the Aral Sea" project, which aims to allocate 10% of cashback to the fund for the preservation of the disappearing sea.
On the final day of the Digital Almaty-2024 Forum, the largest Industry 4.0 Startup Battle took place, with a total prize pool of $180,000. Out of 200 applications, 30 digitalization startups in the industrial sector made it to the finals, competing for prizes from the Battle's partners. The best projects were selected by a professional jury comprising representatives of government agencies, venture investors, mentors, and subsoil users (KazPetrol, Kusto Group, KazMinerals, Karachaganak Petroleum).
It is important to note that the organizers of Digital Almaty are the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Almaty City Akimat, and the Autonomous Cluster Fund "Park of Innovative Technologies."
