During the session, the speakers discussed the accelerating development of artificial intelligence technologies and their impact on the global market, as well as Kazakhstan’s potential to create world-class products. It was noted that Kazakhstan today combines advanced digital infrastructure, societal readiness to rapidly adopt innovations, and ambitions to become a magnet for international technology teams. Special attention was paid to access to computing power.
“We are a Digital by Default nation — that’s how we can gradually describe ourselves. People instantly grasp any digital innovation and start using it everywhere. Back in 2018, I realized that a digital shift had occurred when I saw that people at markets preferred money transfers over cash. That is a clear indicator of a mature digital culture,” said Bagdat Musin, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhtelecom.
The Liberman brothers, Daniil and David, are known as international-level technology entrepreneurs and investors. They have worked on gaming, media, and technology projects, collaborated with major US companies, and actively develop the startup ecosystem through their fund, Brothers Ventures. One of their key goals is to create tools that make technology accessible and democratic for everyone, not just large corporations.
“When you sit in California, you’re inside a bubble and often don’t understand the real situation. I see that in Kazakhstan, many processes — from public services to basic digitalization — are ahead compared to the US. If you exclude companies like Google, NVIDIA, and Intel, in many aspects the country lives as if it were 50 years ago. Every country now faces the same challenge — how to gain access to computing power at scale. Whoever can provide such resources will be able to create applications used by the whole world,” noted Daniil Liberman, co-founder of Brothers Ventures.
As part of his visit to Kazakhstan, Daniil Liberman also met with the leadership of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and held technical sessions with teams from Kazakhtelecom and the Samruk-Kazyna fund.
Daniil Liberman’s visit to Astana Hub became an important step in strengthening international cooperation and promoting Kazakhstan’s AI ecosystem. The guest not only took part in the Fireside Chat but also explored projects and spaces showcasing the country’s technological potential.
Daniil Liberman visited alem.ai, an innovation space designed to develop Kazakhstan’s AI ecosystem. He was shown the center’s key areas: the Singularity Museum, which immerses visitors in the history and evolution of artificial intelligence, and AI Cinema — the world’s first immersive cinema with 180° projection, featuring content fully created using AI.
The IT entrepreneur was also introduced to a number of projects that have already proven their competitiveness in international markets:
Surfaice — an AI-based operating system for retail store development.
nFactorial.School — an online bootcamp that trains in-demand IT professions and helps students transition into development through practical programs and mentorship.
Outpeer.kz — a professional development platform in IT specializing in Data Science, analytics, and Python.
Axellero — a Kazakh startup creating a low-code platform with an AI assistant for rapid development of web and mobile business applications without deep programming skills.
USTEM Foundation — a public foundation promoting STEM education in Kazakhstan through robotics, engineering training, and competitions for school students.
