Astana Hub hosted Blockchain Startups Weekend 4.0 Forum

Blockchain Startups Weekend is an annual educational forum aimed at promoting domestic blockchain startups globally with the help of media support. In 2022 the forum was dedicated to the theme of the fourth industrial revolution.


The leaders of licensed Kazakh cryptocurrency exchanges, creators of Kazakh blockchain businesses, representatives of venture funds, investors, and blockchain specialists performed at the experience exchange platform with foreign projects that have previously established themselves in the market.

"The forum started in 2017, and in the first year, it gained an international scale. We got off to a good start, so we decided with the team to keep up the mark and hold the forum every year, gather all the blockchain players, crypto to be useful to our society and our country," - said Yerlan Dumanuly, one of the founders of the Blockchain Startups Weekend 4.0.

The event included a plenary session called "Regulation of digital asset issuance by private startups and the role of Kazakh cryptocurrency exchanges in developing domestic blockchain startups."

"Currently, a law on digital assets is being developed, which shows the interest of the state and the further development of the crypto industry in Kazakhstan," - Azamat Akhmetzhanov, head of the Kazakhstan Association of Blockchain Technologies, noted.

Speakers analyzed the mining market and spoke about the prospects for blockchain technology. Kuanysh Kayyrbaev, CEO of Blockchain University; Natalia Romenskaya, advisor to the head of the Eurasian Bank on crypto initiatives; Pavel Solodkov, an expert on bitcoin mining; Mukhabbat Daliyeva, blockchain specialist; Ayan Kuchukov, CEO of Umay Academy, and others were able to present.

Tech companies and blockchain startups - CaspianEx, Prometeo Chain System, TrustMe, MedData, Forge 55, NBC Gate, Amadao Network, M2, NFT Collection, SILKY NFT, and INIP - were also presented at the forum.

"We have a pool of technologies taking over blockchain, IoT, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence. We have developed two blockchains - the first is integrated with IoT devices called Ikarus, and the second is the global blockchain Prometeo. We have created a blockchain that can return a transaction", - Damira Kenesarina, CEO of Prometeo Chain System, talked about her technological products.

As a reminder, the forum is organized by the Crowdsale Network, an international platform for startups and investors, with the support of the Kazakhstan Association of Blockchain Technologies. The general partner is Astana Hub.
