Astana Hub hosted "Defense Tech 2.0" Hackathon
The Defense Tech 2.0 Hackathon was held on November 28th to find creative technological solutions in defense and security and stimulate innovative entrepreneurship development. The organizers are the Ministry of Defense and Astana Hub.
Contest participants were offered technical tasks in three areas. At the time of the qualifying round, the ministry had received five applications: two for developing the Deftech web portal and three to create a software product for conducting a competitive selection process among conscripts to receive a grant to study at a university.
"By the end of the year, we intend to hold a hackathon on a program that will allow conscripts to evaluate the quality of food, the complete coverage of the clothing provision, and other parameters. Next year we will hold three to five more such contests. Now the ministry is preparing "homework", determining the needs for such solutions. We will inform the market by publishing the technical specifications on the website," - Deputy Defense Minister Darkhan Akhmediyev shared his plans.
