The QAZBOT ROBOTICS FORUM 2026, a specialised forum dedicated to humanoid robotics and Embodied AI, was held at the alem.ai International Centre for Artificial Intelligence. The forum became one of the practical outcomes of the agreements reached during the working visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Shanghai on 16–17 July 2026. The event was organised by the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana Hub and QAZBOT Technologies. AgiBot, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of humanoid robots, was the key international participant.
The forum brought together representatives of government agencies, technology companies, the business community and international experts. Participants discussed the localisation of robotic systems manufacturing, the development of software and AI models, the advancement of R&D and Data Factory initiatives, the training of engineering talent, and the launch of pilot projects. During the demonstration programme, guests saw humanoid robots in action, including a performance of the traditional Kazakh dance Qara Jorga and martial arts demonstrations.
“The working visit of the Head of State to Shanghai gave new impetus to Kazakhstan–China cooperation in high technology. QAZBOT ROBOTICS FORUM 2026 has become one of the practical outcomes of the agreements reached. It is important for us that cooperation with leading technology companies translates into concrete projects, including the localisation of solutions, the training of engineering talent and the adoption of robotics across key sectors of the economy,” said Gizzat Baitursynov, Vice Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of the forum, QAZBOT Technologies, AgiBot and Astana Hub also signed a memorandum on long-term technological cooperation. The document provides for the localisation of robotic solutions, the exchange of expertise, specialist training, and the development of pilot projects for Kazakhstani enterprises.
The central event of the business programme was the plenary session titled “AI & Robotics: Shaping the Economy of the Future.” Experts from AgiBot, QAZBOT Technologies and other international companies explored practical applications of robotics in manufacturing, logistics, services, healthcare and urban infrastructure.
During closed B2B meetings, representatives of QAZBOT Technologies and AgiBot discussed enterprise needs and opportunities for launching pilot projects with Kazakhstani companies. Partners and participants in the business meetings included Samruk-Kazyna JSC, the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana Innovations JSC, Astana International University, Master of Robots, as well as representatives from Uzbekistan and Georgia. Bilateral and trilateral agreements in the fields of technology, education, and international cooperation were signed with a number of organizations.
QAZBOT ROBOTICS FORUM 2026 provided a platform for moving from showcasing global innovations to their practical implementation and for building Kazakhstan’s own robotics and AI ecosystem.
