The final demonstrated the broad potential of artificial intelligence. Participants presented solutions for healthcare, education, ecology, industry, and sports. Among the ideas were early cancer detection technologies, mental health support platforms, water resource monitoring systems, exam integrity tools, and digital inclusion services.
The winners were:
Best School AI Project – Úmit, an interactive mouthguard — an innovative device for people with severe upper limb disabilities that allows them to control digital devices and wheelchairs using head and tongue movements.
Best Student AI Project – Beelieve, a smart beekeeping system that prevents bee colony collapse and increases agricultural yields.
Best Startup AI Project – TrustExam, an AI platform for conducting exams and certifications with online monitoring and violation prevention.
Best Science AI Project – Mirai Tech, an AI platform for motion analysis based on self-generating sensors, connecting sports, medicine, and education.
“Our project Úmit helps people with disabilities use a phone, computer, and other tools through head and mouth movements. During volunteer work, children with special needs asked us for help with everyday tasks, like taking a book off a shelf. That moment inspired us to develop a solution that would give people more freedom and possibilities. Participating in AI SANA Generative Nation has been an incredible experience — the organization and teams were at a very high level,” said Madi Tazhikenov, a 12th-grade student of NIS Taraz and winner in the Schoolers category.
The jury consisted of representatives from government, academia, and business, including:
Deputy of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan Yekaterina Smyshlyayeva, Head of Digitalization and Public Services of Astana Berik Akhmetov, Technology Leader at Booking.com Alibek Datbayev, Digital Solutions Architecture Manager at TengizChevroil Gulmira Sharbakova, Country Business Manager at inDrive Arai Bekembayev, CEO of Blockchain & AI Technology Center Aidana Kaskyrbek, and CEO of Alem.ai Foundation Adina Magavina.
Prize packages included substantial support for all winners.
School students received laptops for the entire team and invitations to TUMO and Astana Hub educational programs. Students received 5 million tenge per team and access to Astana Hub courses. The winning startup received 7 million tenge and the opportunity to showcase its project at Startup Alley during Digital Bridge 2025. The research team received 10 million tenge and the same opportunity to present at Startup Alley. All winners also received six months of access to Astana Hub coworking spaces, and each finalist received a participant certificate and a commemorative prize.
Each winning team will receive mentorship from leading industry experts, including:
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiev, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, CEO of Astana Hub Magzhan Madiev, Chairman of Kazakhtelecom Bagdat Mussin, CEO of Silkroad Innovation Hub Aset Abdullaev, Founder of MA7 Venture Murat Abdrakhmanov.

“Developing artificial intelligence technologies has become a strategic priority worldwide, and we understand that progress is impossible without talent. Under the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, we are developing and training IT talent, and the national AI SANA Generative Nation competition has become a key step in this effort. Everything happening here is done for you and thanks to you. The hundreds of applications we received show that interest and energy in Kazakhstan are enormous. The IT and AI sectors are growing rapidly — we are already seeing homegrown Kazakhstani unicorns. What seemed impossible just recently is becoming reality today — and that is your achievement,” emphasized Magzhan Madiev, CEO of Astana Hub.
A reminder that from October 2 to 4, Astana will host the international forum Digital Bridge 2025, a platform for dialogue among global leaders in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, venture capital, science, and education. AI SANA Generative Nation was the central event of AI Week, held for the first time as part of the forum.
Tickets and detailed information about the forum are available in the Astana Hub app (Digital Bridge section) and on the official Digital Bridge 2025 website.
