Meet the Drapers is a global venture capital show that gives startups a unique opportunity to pitch their ideas, attract top-tier investors, and become part of the international startup ecosystem. The panel of judges includes Tim Draper, known for his early investments in Tesla and SpaceX, as well as his father Bill Draper and sister Polly Draper.
Filming for Season 7 of Meet the Drapers took place across major cities including Abu Dhabi, Paris, Austin, Miami, New York, Karachi, Silicon Valley, and notably, Astana. The Kazakhstan selection round was held during the international Digital Bridge 2023 forum, which was personally attended by Tim Draper — one of the world’s most influential venture capitalists. During his visit, he praised Kazakhstan’s potential in digital transformation and highlighted the importance of fostering innovation in the region. Four Kazakhstan’s startups — all residents of Astana Hub — were chosen to participate in the show: Arlan Biotech, Investbanq, Idos Games, and Teen Tech Ed. The episode featuring Kazakhstan's startups is available to watch here.
The final round of the reality show will take place on April 18 and will be streamed on the official Meet the Drapers website.
For reference: Investbanq is the first AI-powered capital management platform in Central Asia, helping banks, family offices, and asset managers automate investment processes, manage assets efficiently, and attract the next generation of investors.
