The Astana Hub International Innovation Cluster announces the launch of a free Data Engineering course in the Kazakh language. The project was developed in collaboration with the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC) and BigData KZ. The program is now available to everyone on the Astana Hub educational platform.
Data engineering is one of the key drivers of today’s digital economy. As artificial intelligence is increasingly adopted by businesses and the public sector worldwide, demand is rapidly growing for professionals who build the data infrastructure that powers analytics systems and machine learning models. This course goes beyond a basic introduction to AI tools, focusing instead on developing a strong technical foundation for advanced analytics platforms and AI solutions. The skills acquired will provide a solid starting point for professional growth in data analytics, data science, machine learning, and AI engineering.
The program is designed for a broad audience seeking to build a career in data, including aspiring professionals, students pursuing technical degrees, data analysts, and anyone interested in acquiring the foundational knowledge needed to advance in artificial intelligence and other technology fields.
The four-week course is delivered entirely online in Kazakh. Its content follows a structured progression from fundamental concepts to practical application. The program consists of five thematic modules that combine video lessons with hands-on assignments: database fundamentals and SQL, data warehouse design, Python programming, batch data processing with Apache Spark, and ETL workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a free certificate confirming the skills they have acquired.
“Today, data is becoming the foundation for the development of artificial intelligence, digital services, and technology-driven businesses. Therefore, training professionals capable of building modern data infrastructure is of strategic importance to the entire IT industry. Launching the course in Kazakh will make in-demand knowledge more accessible and enable aspiring specialists to develop a solid practical foundation for their future professional growth,” said Valeriya Te, Managing Director of Astana Hub.
“Data engineering is one of the key fields for those seeking to build a career in the tech industry. However, high-quality technical learning materials in Kazakh remain limited. By launching this course, we aim to make modern knowledge more accessible and enable more people to study data engineering in their native language,” said Aidana Kaskyrbek, Director of the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC).
According to Sergei Samsonov, Co-founder of BigData KZ, the data engineering course is a new initiative for Kazakhstan’s education sector and the country’s first comprehensive Kazakh-language program in this field. It draws on the best practices of leading Kazakhstani and international companies in data management and is taught by experienced industry professionals. He also expressed confidence that the project would make a significant contribution to advancing the school’s mission: “Tech education in one’s native language.”
Participation is free, and there is no limit on the number of participants. To join the course, applicants must follow @danakaskyr and @bigdata_kz on Instagram. Once their subscription has been confirmed, they will receive a unique promotional code to register on the Astana Hub educational platform.
