Bitrix24 specialists analyzed almost 1 million calls in their system worldwide and found out how the digital customs of such meetings differ in different countries.
Work calls have become firmly embedded in the lives of most Kazakhstani office workers during the pandemic and have reshaped the meetings forever. According to analytics data, 962,222 business calls have been made worldwide in the system of the leading software developer Bitrix24 over the past two months. Of these, 16,616 meetings were held in Kazakhstan.
Then the experts came across interesting observations. For example, in the Bitrix24 usage area in Italy, the average duration of a group call is one and a half times longer than the average — 34 minutes. Germany is in second place, with an average of 26 minutes for group calls. The shortest calls were found in India - about 14 minutes.
The average duration of a group call from Kazakhstanis is 19.55 minutes.
For 1-on-1 calls, the variation in duration is 2 times from ~7 minutes in India and Kazakhstan to 14 minutes in Italy.
As for the most interesting features, it is probably very natural for Italians to transmit non—verbal language and gestures — only 13% of users connect without cameras, whereas on average this figure is three times higher (40%). In Kazakhstan, 31% of users do not turn on the camera during a workshop.
In Turkey and Mexico, >5% of all calls are most often shared. In this context, Kazakhstan is no different from most regions (3.6%).
Using the country-by-country screen recording function doesn't look very impressive at the moment. On the one hand, you need to keep in mind that the feature is only available in the desktop application. But even so, among the calls where desktop users participated, the share of recorded calls is less than 2%.
Modern software developers are continuously improving meeting tools to make calls convenient and efficient. The latest trend is the use of artificial intelligence, which processes large amounts of data, outputs a brief summary of the meeting, and makes recommendations. This helps to avoid misunderstandings and mistakes due to the human factor and makes numerous calls more comfortable.
