Hexlet is an online programming school founded in 2012 by Rahim Davletkaliev. In 2013, Kirill Mokevnin joined the project. Initially, the project was developed by programmers for programmers and was focused on independent learning with a practical focus. In 2015, Hexlet introduced educational courses for beginners and vocational training with a focus on gaining practical experience and employment.In 2021, Hexlet, together with Edutech Group of Companies, founded Hexlet College in St. Petersburg, which absorbed the best practices of adult education. Today, the college operates online and offline in 4 cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Izhevsk.

In 2023, the Hexlet online programming school began operating in the Kazakhstan market. "One of the most important steps for the development of Hexlet was the decision to launch it on the market of Kazakhstan.  This has already allowed our students from Kazakhstan to make payments in a format that is more convenient for them and does not depend on the binding to the course.
