Senior Tax Specialist

  • Calculate taxes and prepare/file tax reports for 10+ legal entities in the EMEA region; scope includes all tax payments except payroll-related taxes (e.g., corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, etc.).

About your role

At Nexters, we create games that capture the hearts of millions of users around the world. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to work in our R&D team.

You will work with an autonomous R&D department of about 50 specialists, which is fully responsible for the full development cycle of the game — from technical vision and architecture to production processes and product delivery. There will be up to 10 engineers in your direct control area, while you will also influence technical decisions and coordinate them within the entire team.

The team is currently developing a 3D mobile game in the 4X strategy genre, actively moving towards release. To successfully achieve this stage and further scale the project, we are strengthening the team with a strong technical leader who will be able to combine practical expertise, architectural thinking and leadership in managing people.

What will you do?

  • Define and shape the technical vision and architecture of R&D projects, ensuring scalability, performance and maintainability of solutions
  • Lead and develop engineers by acting as a technical authority and people manager for a key group of developers.
  • Develop and implement best engineering practices, including code quality, CI/CD, deployment processes, and system observability
  • Work closely with product, design, and gaming teams to transform gaming vision into reliable technical solutions.
  • Oversee and develop the backend and infrastructure stack, including AWS-based services and live-ops readiness
  • Ensure stable operation of delivery pipelines using GitLab CI and Argo CD

We expect you to have

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, CTO or Development Lead in game development
  • Strong hands-on experience working with C# and Unity, including experience developing 3D projects
  • Deep understanding of backend systems and microservices architecture
  • Practical experience working with PostgreSQL (or other SQL database), Kafka, and distributed systems
  • Experience working with AWS (or another public cloud) in a production environment
  • Leadership experience: direct management of engineers and influence on broader teams
  • The ability to work in an autonomous environment, take responsibility and make strategic technical decisions
