Scientific Business Analyst, ELN/LIMS

Brief Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Business Analyst to support the pharmaceutical Research division in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of critical research systems such as ELN, SDMS, and research databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis within a pharmaceutical Research environment and a deep understanding of scientific workflows and data management needs

Responsibilities

Gather and analyze scientific and technical requirements through interviews, workshops, and workflow analysis
Translate user needs into clear User Requirement Specifications
Support system evaluation and selection (e.g., ELN, SDMS) via market research, RFPs, and fit-gap analysis
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate system implementation and testing (incl. UAT)
Act as liaison between scientific users, IT, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle
Create user stories, SOPs, and training materials; support training and change management efforts 

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Life Sciences; background in IT or Business Analysis preferred
5+ years as a Business Analyst, with 3+ years in pharmaceutical research
Experience with research systems (e.g., ELN, SDMS) and FAIR data principles
Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
Experience working on global teams (US/EU)
Fluent in English
Ability to work in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone

🎓 Education and experience:

  • Higher education (preferably: marketing, PR, IT, medicine, psychology, linguistics).
  • Sales experience of at least 1 year, preferably B2B (IT/medical software, SaaS, consulting).
  • The skills of conducting negotiations with LPR, presentations, correspondence.
  • Ownership of CRM systems (Bitrix, amoCRM, Hubspot).
  • Good speech in Russian and Kazakh, English is a plus.

  • The ability to manage a long transaction cycle.
