The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) is an independent financial regulator of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). AFSA regulates financial service providers as well as the ancillary service providers, integrating into an international regulatory framework, and interfacing with other financial services regulatory authorities across the globe.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Build web applications with web development best practices
  • Transform application designs/mock ups into front-end code with HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Work with back-end developers to integrate UI components with APIs and databases
  • Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine performance optimizations
  • Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Suggest improvement areas

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in science and/or STEM disciplines;
  • Master’s degree in Computer science will be an advantage;
  • Portfolio of projects with demonstrated relevant documents will be an advantage.

Minimum Experience

  • 3+ years of work experience in software development

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Core skills:

  • Good understanding of business requirements/use cases;
  • Ability to evaluate development time based on use cases;
  • Experience with Angular 6, Typescript;
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript;
  • Knowledge of different data formats (XML, JSON, CSV, etc.);
  • Experience with Git;
  • Knowledge of database principles (Postgresql, MySQL);
  • Knowledge of OS Linux;
  • Experience with systems integrations, including REST API;
  • Experience in integration with egov gateway would be an advantage;
  • Experience in test-driven development would be an advantage;
  • Experience with cloud environment, Linux, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps would be an advantage.

General/soft skills:

  • Oral, written, and interpersonal skills in both Russian and English language, ability to explain technical details
  • Writing technical documentation
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capacity, critical thinking
  • Strong time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in teams
