Currently, the valuation of goods for auctions is carried out mainly manually by appraisers. This process requires considerable time, expertise, and access to information about market analogues. The main problems of the existing approach: High labor costs. Manual evaluation of a large number of lots requires the participation of specialists and significantly slows down the process of preparing goods for sale. The subjectivity of the assessment. The results may depend on the expertise of a particular expert, which leads to differences in the evaluation of identical or similar products. Limited request processing speed. With a large number of incoming goods, there is a queue for evaluation, which reduces the efficiency of the auction site. The difficulty of finding market analogues. Experts need to manually analyze a large number of sources (auction catalogs, marketplaces, sales archives). Insufficient availability of experts. Some categories of goods (antiques, collectibles, appliances, etc.) require highly specialized expertise.
The introduction of a system for automatically estimating the value of goods based on photo analysis using artificial intelligence technologies will achieve the following results. Increasing the speed of product evaluation The use of computer vision and machine learning algorithms will significantly reduce the time for the preliminary evaluation of lots. The automated system will be able to perform image analysis and generate an estimated cost of the product within a few seconds, while manual evaluation can take much longer. Reducing the burden on experts Automation of the initial assessment will reduce the amount of manual work of specialists. Experts will be able to focus on more complex or rare objects that require professional expertise, while standard goods will be able to undergo a preliminary assessment automatically. Improving the accuracy and objectivity of the assessment The use of data on previous sales, market analogues and statistical models will reduce the influence of subjective factors in determining the value of goods and provide more stable and reasonable evaluation results. Increasing the capacity of the auction site Automating the evaluation process will allow faster processing of a large number of incoming goods, which will increase the efficiency of the auction platform and increase the number of lots placed. Improving the user experience Users will be able to receive a preliminary estimate of the value of the product immediately after uploading the photo, which will increase the usability of the platform and allow them to make a faster decision on the sale of goods at auction. Creating a database for analytics The system will accumulate information about the products, their characteristics and the final selling prices. This data can be used for further analytics, improvement of algorithms for estimating and forecasting market trends.

Purpose and description of task (project)
The aim of the project is to develop an intelligent system for estimating the value of goods at auction based on the analysis of photographs using artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies. The system should automatically determine the type of object, its main characteristics, condition and market analogues based on images, and then form an approximate estimate of the value of the product. The solution will automate the process of pre-evaluation of lots, increase the accuracy of pricing and reduce the time required to prepare goods for placement on the auction site.
