Speaker: Alexander Trapezin, CTO of the Freedom Pay Group of Companies

In this lecture, we will explore how a card payment is processed and what happens after a customer clicks the “Pay” button.

Agenda:

• the e-commerce market and the role of card payments;
• international and local payment systems;
• types of payment cards and BINs;
• how acquiring works: authorization, clearing, and 3-D Secure;
• what MCC, limits, IRF, and tariffs are;
• how settlement currencies and currency conversion affect a payment.
