On August 25, Almaty Hub will host a meeting with Marat Tolibayev, venture investor, founder and head of Activat VC, as part of the AI’preneurs program.

Activat VC invests in early-stage technology startups. Its portfolio includes more than 20 projects from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and other countries across the region. The fund has also completed three successful exits with returns of up to 4X.

During the meeting, Marat Tolibayev will explain how investors evaluate startups, what they focus on when making investment decisions, and what helps a project stand out.

Participants will learn:

• what investors look for in startups;
• why some projects receive a “yes” while others are rejected;
• which metrics truly matter;
• how to prepare a compelling pitch;
• how to improve their chances of raising investment.

The meeting will be useful for founders who are planning to raise capital, preparing for conversations with venture funds, or looking to assess their startup’s investment readiness.
