Decentrathon 3.0: National Online Hackathon Launches with ₸16 Million Prize Pool
From May 23 to 25, Decentrathon 3.0 — one of Kazakhstan’s largest next-generation national hackathons — will take place with a total prize pool of ₸16 million. For the first time, the event will be held entirely online, making it accessible to everyone regardless of location, age, or skill level.

Registration is open until May 22 via the official link.
This year’s hackathon features two key tracks: AI Track and GameJam. The AI in Creativity track is open to everyone interested in exploring artificial intelligence, with no prior technical background required. Participants need only creativity, a willingness to learn, and an openness to working with modern AI tools. This track is supported by Kazakhtelecom, activ 5G, and Mastercard.
The GameJam track offers participants the chance to develop their own game prototypes, explore immersive game mechanics, and tackle real-world challenges from the gaming industry. This direction is organized in partnership with Grand Mobile, a leader in Kazakhstan’s mobile gaming sector.
The hackathon is organized by Astana Hub and the Blockchain and AI Technology Center, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Astana Hub consistently supports initiatives aimed at developing the digital ecosystem and engaging youth in tech. Decentrathon 3.0 is a great example of how a hackathon can become a launchpad for participants of all levels. This year’s online format makes the event more inclusive and scalable — anyone can join from anywhere in the country,” said Daniya Akhmetova, Managing Director at Astana Hub.
Decentrathon 3.0 offers a full support ecosystem for participants — including expert mentorship from industry professionals, exclusive partner challenges, and valuable prizes. In addition to cash awards, participants will receive personalized certificates and official merchandise. The event aims not only to develop innovative solutions, but also to foster Kazakhstan’s growing tech community.
“Decentrathon is about people. It’s for those who want to be part of something bigger, to create, and to move forward together. This is more than a hackathon — it’s a community where everyone can contribute and feel connected. We believe in progress, openness, and making technology accessible to all,” said Aidana Kaskyrbek, Head of the Blockchain and AI Technology Center.
The event will run on Decentra, a custom mini-app built within the Telegram ecosystem by participants of last year’s season. The platform enables fast, seamless registration and task completion — no additional software required. Importantly, participation in Decentrathon is completely free and open to all.
More information and registration are available in the official Decentrathon Telegram channel.
