A draft law on artificial intelligence is currently under consideration by the Mazhilis of Parliament. This legislation will lay the legal foundation for the development and safe application of AI technologies in the country.

Special attention is being given to the creation of technological infrastructure. The Ministry is working on the development of a national supercomputer and AI chips.

The AI infrastructure also includes the National AI Platform, which has already produced 11 AI agent prototypes aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration and simplifying access to government services.

The Ministry has also launched the Industrial AI Accelerator program, which targets key sectors including industry, energy, healthcare, and finance.

The Industrial AI Accelerator includes stages for selecting and training teams, as well as launching pilot projects. The first wave has already been implemented in the mining industry, energy sector, healthcare, fintech, and public sector. As a result, 116 applications were submitted, 32 companies completed the acceleration program, and 27 pilot projects were launched, 4 of which have already demonstrated effectiveness and are ready for scaling.

As the Committee Chairman noted, an important element of the ecosystem will be the International Center for Artificial Intelligence alem.ai, which will unite educational, scientific, and entrepreneurial initiatives. The center will include public spaces, TUMO School, Tomorrow School, an AI campus, an R&D center, and an AI Government situation center.

During the briefing, Daniya Akhmetova, Managing Director of Astana Hub, spoke about the development of human capital in the field of artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence is becoming the new literacy of the 21st century. That is why the training of one million Kazakhstanis in AI skills has been included in the long-term national strategy for human capital development.

Over the next five years, the initiative aims to reach schoolchildren, students, civil servants, business representatives, and the wider public. The implementation of this goal involves government agencies, academic institutions, and global partners. Astana Hub, in turn, is implementing a number of educational initiatives in the field of AI and IT – TUMO, Tomorrow School, QazCoders, courses on data analysis and Python, and others. We are not just training specialists – we are shaping a new mindset, a digital culture, and a responsible approach to technology.

Among the key plans for 2025 are the launch of the alem.ai center, the establishment of the AI Development Council, the commissioning of a national supercomputing cluster, the rollout of educational programs, and the adoption of a national AI strategy.
