Kazakh startups help improve Almaty
Startups-graduates of the Smart City Accelerator Almaty program made presentations to invited investors and heads of the Departments of the Akimat of Almaty, which was attended by Akim Bakytzhan Sagintayev. The program participants developed their projects in such areas as: security, housing and communal services, healthcare, tourism, education, transport, construction.
Astana Hub, together with the Almaty Digitalization Department, launched an acceleration program for start-up projects in order to introduce innovative and digital solutions into the work of city services.
The goal of the program is to improve the quality of life of residents through technology by improving service efficiency and meeting the needs of citizens. As part of the program, pilot projects were launched on remote monitoring of climate and air quality in children's and educational institutions, on the analysis of video surveillance on the regulation of road and pedestrian traffic, on the transition to OSI and management of residential buildings, on-line registration of OSI, motivation of children to study, on safe transportation of children, to simplify the activities of fire fighting service employees and others.
“The Smart City Accelerator Almaty program is an intensive program for the development of start-up projects free of charge, where participants have access to educational courses, training from trackers, attracting investments, PR and consulting services. A lot of work has been done, acceleration was carried out in close cooperation with the akimat of Almaty. I urge startups to believe in themselves and their strengths, we will always support you,” said Magzhan Madiyev, CEO of Astana Hub.
The duration of the program was 4 and a half months. 86 applications were submitted for the program, of which 25 startup projects were selected, of which 24 completed the program. As a result of the program, 50 hours of workshops, 690 individual consultations, traction meetings and board meetings were held. As a result, the most promising and ready-to-implement startups have launched pilot projects with the Offices of the Akimat of Almaty.
