Olzhas Bektenov: Tech Services Exports in Kazakhstan Surge from $30 Million to $600 Million in Five Years

Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov recently met with Arkady Dobkin, Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO, and President of EPAM Systems, one of the largest American technology companies, to discuss cooperation in digitalization, tech education, and the advancement of Kazakhstan’s technological ecosystem.

The meeting addressed modern trends in the global technology market and explored opportunities for creating joint business solutions and research initiatives. Discussions included the establishment of an artificial intelligence laboratory at the National Center for Artificial Intelligence.

EPAM Systems, a global leader in software development and consulting, operates in more than 17 cities across Kazakhstan and employs around 1,000 specialists. In 2024, the company exported tech services worth over $40 million as part of its participation in Astana Hub.

“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has set a strategic goal for Kazakhstan to become a hub of total digitalization and accelerated artificial intelligence development. We are actively working toward this vision. Over the past five years, tech service exports have grown from $30 million to $600 million. However, this is only the beginning—we have significant untapped potential. Kazakhstani specialists are talented and competitive. Collaborating with global giants like EPAM will enhance efficiency and accelerate development,” emphasized Olzhas Bektenov.
