Parliamentary Delegations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Visit the Farabi Hub Innovation Center
Delegations from the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan visited the Center for Innovative Products and High-Tech Projects Farabi Hub in Almaty. The delegations, led by Chairmen Yerlan Koshanov and Nuriddin Ismoilov, were introduced to the center’s scientific developments as well as Almaty-based startups in the field of artificial intelligence implemented with the support of Astana Hub.

As part of the Second Meeting of the Interparliamentary Cooperation Council between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the deputies of both countries paid particular attention to joint efforts in implementing the directives of Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding the development of information technologies and artificial intelligence.
In this context, the parliamentary delegations were introduced to several projects implemented at Farabi Hub under Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The deputies were presented with initiatives of the Farabi Robotics Center for Industrial Robotics Competencies. One such project is a robotic dog designed for underground mine inspection. In addition to its scientific developments, the center trains specialists in robot assembly, setup, and modernization for industrial enterprises. It is also engaged in the development and experimental 3D printing of new materials intended for widespread use in manufacturing.
The guests also learned about a number of successful AI startup projects that are part of the Astana Hub ecosystem. These include Codiplay, a platform for teaching digital skills to children and teenagers; Pleep, an AI-based online sales assistant generator; AIDENTIS, a system for diagnosing malocclusion using AI; and Dereknet and NeuronOil, which develop digital twins of oil and gas fields using mathematical modeling to predict the extraction of oil, gas, and other resources. All of these startups have reached the stage of industrial implementation, with some already in use abroad.
The deputies were also shown the results of scientific developments in petrochemistry, medicine, control and measurement technologies, and other areas produced in the laboratories of the Farabi Hub center.
Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev spoke about the university’s development prospects and the launch of a supercomputer cluster, which is already widely used in the university’s scientific research and experimental projects.
CEO of Astana Hub Magzhan Madiyev presented the center’s startup support ecosystem and provided information about the establishment of the International Artificial Intelligence Center. The goal of the project is to build a comprehensive infrastructure for studying and applying AI across a wide range of fields.
The deputies also visited the A. Kasteyev State Museum of Arts, where they were presented with an exhibition dedicated to the work of Ural Tansykbayev. The artist’s legacy continues to serve as a cultural link between the Kazakh and Uzbek peoples for over a century.
