A joint technology forum was held by Central Asian countries
The event brought together over 50 IT companies and 600 participants from various nations including Japan, Germany, South Korea, and the USA. The forum, named the Central Asian Technology Forum, was held in Bishkek and was co-organized and sponsored by the Astana Hub International Technopark, along with the Hi-Tech Park from Kyrgyzstan and the IT Park Uzbekistan.
The main aim of the forum was to unite the strengths, resources, and capabilities of Central Asian countries in the field of IT, and to showcase their IT potential to the international markets. Business delegations from different countries shared their latest technologies and took part in panel discussions on various topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, export potential, and IT education.
The forum also hosted the Central Asian Tech Awards 2023 ceremony, where leading IT companies and individual leaders from Central Asia were awarded in different categories. The Astana Hub start-ups Networks Energy and Red_mad_robot central asia won in the nominations "Breakthrough of the Year in Central Asia" and "The fastest growing IT company - Export - outsourcing of ICT services abroad", while Kazakh developer, inventor, and teacher Rustem Ermekov were named the best "IT teacher of the Year in Central Asia".
The Central Asian Technology Forum and Central Asian Tech Awards were organized by KARPOU and HTP Kyrgyzstan, Astana Hub Kazakhstan, and IT Park Uzbekistan in partnership with the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, the EBRD, and the Office of the President in the Kyrgyz Republic. The invited guests and experts stressed the importance of developing the IT sector in Central Asia and gave recommendations for its growth based on their experience and successful international practices.
