Over the next two days, more than 2,500 participants from all 17 regions of Kazakhstan will showcase their innovative developments in key technological fields, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, game development, and Telegram mini-apps. This event bolsters Kazakhstan’s role as a regional leader in advanced technologies and supports the creation of a thriving AI ecosystem. Decentrathon 2.0 is part of the Generative Nation movement, a broader initiative within Kazakhstan’s AI development framework, which also includes the AI Movement aimed at promoting artificial intelligence technologies.

Last year, Decentrathon brought together over 1,500 developers from 12 regions, marking a significant milestone that highlighted the enormous potential of Kazakhstan’s tech talent. This year, the hackathon has expanded to cover all 17 regions, making it the first event of its kind globally at this scale.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, discussed the nation’s initiatives in artificial intelligence development.

“The Generative Nation movement aims to ensure that AI transformation reaches every corner of the country. It is essential that all regions of Kazakhstan participate in this journey. Decentrathon is the first tech event to unite all regions, marking an important step toward solidifying Kazakhstan’s leadership in artificial intelligence and digital technologies,” said Zhaslan Madiyev.

During the event, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, in partnership with the Blockchain and AI Technology Center, announced the launch of a free, four-week AI-driven career bootcamp. Designed for Decentrathon participants and tech graduates from Kazakhstan's universities, the bootcamp includes practical master classes and networking sessions with top technology companies. Participants will gain insights into how AI is transforming career opportunities, the skills they need to develop, and how to build successful careers in this evolving field.

Initiatives like the bootcamp and the AI-driven career program will play a crucial role in strengthening Kazakhstan’s human capital in the tech industry.
