On September 18, 2024, a law came into force in Kazakhstan that provides owners of electric vehicles with the opportunity to use free parking spaces on the balance sheet of the Akimat (municipal parking lots). Where can I park electric cars for free? Free parking spaces for electric vehicles will be located in various districts of the city, including in the center of Astana, in municipal parking lots. These places are specially allocated, and are indicated by a special paid parking sign.

How do I register for free parking? In order to start using free parking, owners of electric vehicles need to register. Registration is carried out through the E-Visa service or by submitting an application to the Parking Space in Astana. To do this, you will need to attach scanned copies of documents, such as a vehicle registration certificate.

The deadline for reviewing applications. After submitting an application for registration in the register of beneficiaries, the deadline for reviewing documents is 15 working days. After that, owners of electric vehicles will be given permission to use free parking.

• One owner can register no more than one vehicle to receive benefits.
