blife: an internal ecosystem for the holding company and its subsidiaries

When a national holding company with billions of turnover comes with a request for digitalization, it is not just a project, it is a challenge. At the end of 2023, the National Managing Holding Baiterek, one of the key players in the economy of Kazakhstan, contacted us. It has several subsidiaries, thousands of employees, and huge amounts of data. 

The goal was ambitious: to create a single digital environment that would connect the entire holding company, simplify interaction, speed up processes, and at the same time remain secure, flexible, and user-friendly.

The project started with building a database. Instead of immediately rushing into the development of interfaces and settings, we started with an invisible but critical part — the infrastructure. We deployed the boxed version of Bitrix24 on the holding's servers, secured it, connected Active Directory so that all employees could log in with corporate usernames, and migrated some of the data from the previous SharePoint system.

Already at this stage, employees received a full-fledged tool: with tasks, a corporate feed, video communication, a knowledge base and a clear structure. But it was just a warm—up before the next main stage.

In 2024, the development of blife, an internal digital space based on Bitrix24, started. This was not just the installation of a platform, but the creation of an ecosystem in which the entire organization lives: from HR and internal service to interaction with subsidiaries.

Special attention was paid to the architecture: each subsidiary received its own “sub-portal”, but at the same time remained part of the overall system. This approach made it possible to unite dozens of teams without losing flexibility and autonomy.

We have upgraded the corporate news feed and made it smart: now it collects information from various internal sources via RSS. We have developed a Digital Cabinet widget that displays personalized data from other systems, such as internal reporting, without having to switch between windows.

blife has become more than just a tool — it has become an entry point into the workday for every employee.

Recruiting became a separate block of the project. Previously, each department handled recruitment issues in its own way: through mail, Excel, and many manual operations. We proposed a centralized system and implemented it from scratch.

On the jobs external website.baiterek.gov.kz applicants can find suitable vacancies and respond. All responses are immediately sent to the internal system, where HR specialists process them — from the first contact to the invitation to an interview. All communication, including testing and video interviews, takes place right inside blife.

How digital recruitment works inside blife:

1. The recruiter creates a vacancy right inside the "Career Portal". He indicates the position, requirements, department and other necessary information — the system helps not to miss important details.

2.  As soon as the vacancy is ready, it is sent for publication. The system automatically places it on the external jobs website.baiterek.gov.kz where it becomes available to job seekers across the country.  

3. The candidate visits the website, registers — either manually or by importing data, for example, from hh.kz — and can immediately respond to the vacancy that interests him. 

4. All responses instantly appear inside blife and are automatically linked to the corresponding vacancy. Recruiters see who responded to what, study resumes, filter them according to the specified criteria, and invite suitable candidates to the next stage.

The system sends an invitation for testing to those who pass the pre-selection process. The applicant receives a notification in his personal account with two active links: one to the test itself, the second to a video conference organized through Bitrix24 Sync. At the same time, an event automatically appears in the blife calendar for the assigned employee.

5. If the test is successful, an interview is scheduled, also in the hangout format. When a vacancy is closed, it automatically receives the status "Successfully closed", disappears from the site and goes into the archive, while preserving the entire history of interaction.

Now recruitment is a well—established digital process, where every step is visible: who invited, when they responded, at what stage the candidate is, what tasks the HR team faces.

Another significant component of the project is the self—service portal. He solves a simple but painful question for any large structure: how to make interaction with administrative departments convenient.

Now, for example, an employee can order office supplies or submit a request to HR as easily as placing an order in an online store. You don't need to ask your colleagues “who to write to” — everything is automated: you have selected, executed, and the system will send the application to the right department on its own. Performers have a clear queue of tasks, everything is monitored, everything is transparent.

This tool has removed barriers, saved time, and enabled departments to work in a structured manner.

The final stage was a project for the Analytical Center of the holding. Previously, reports were uploaded manually, in different formats, without standardization. We have developed a system in which employees upload Excel files using a template, the data is automatically read and transmitted via the API to the analytical platform.

This reduced the amount of manual work, reduced the risk of errors, and accelerated the information processing cycle — an important step for any large company where reporting is the basis for decision—making.

As a result, Baiterek received not just a portal, but a digital ecosystem where everything works as a single mechanism. Communications, recruiting, document management, reporting, internal services — everything is assembled in one window, without disparate systems and “pluggages”.

blife has become more than just an IT product. It has become a part of the corporate culture, a tool for growth and sustainable development. And employees — from top management to junior specialists — received a convenient, understandable and safe environment for daily work.
