RSE "National Institute of Intellectual Property" and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan announce the launch of the Republican contest of achievements in the field of invention "Shapagat - 2024"!

The Shapagat Competition is an important event in the field of science and innovation aimed at supporting and developing inventive activities in Kazakhstan. The competition provides a unique opportunity for Kazakhstani scientists, inventors and enterprises to present their achievements at the national level and receive recognition.

The objectives of the competition:

• Stimulating inventive activity among Kazakhstani scientists and specialists.
• Recognition and awarding of outstanding achievements in the field of invention.
• Promotion of innovations that contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.

The nominations of the competition:

• Invention of the Year: Evaluation of inventions with high social and economic impact, environmental safety and competitiveness.
• A woman inventor: Recognizing the contributions of women in the field of invention.
• The Most active Inventor: Rewarding inventors with the most patents and successful technology commercialization.
• The best innovative company: Recognition of companies that have implemented innovative solutions with high export potential.
• Young Inventor: For young scientists and students aged 18-35 who are actively involved in research activities.
• Young talent: For students aged 10-18 years who demonstrate high technical skills and innovative potential.

Selection criteria:

For the nominations "Invention of the Year", "Female Inventor" and "Young Inventor":

• Social significance;
• Economic effect;
• Environmental safety;
• Competitiveness;
• Introduction into production and/or commercialization of technologies.

For the nomination "The most active inventor":

• Social significance;
• Economic effect;
• Environmental safety;
• Number of patents granted;
• Introduction into production and/or commercialization of technologies.

For the nomination "Young Talent":

• Technical level of development;
• Social significance;
• Environmental safety;
• The expected economic effect of using the development.

For the nomination "The best innovative company":

• Environmental safety of products;
• Competitiveness;
• Technological maturity for export;
• The socio-economic effect of implemented innovations and the use of intellectual property.

Honorary title "Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan":

The competition provides for awarding honorary titles for the most significant and widely used inventions. The application for the title is initiated by government agencies, scientific organizations or enterprises.

Terms and procedure for submitting applications:

Applications and petitions for participation in the competition and awarding the honorary title are accepted from May 1 to August 31, 2024 by e-mail: shapagat@kazpatent.kz .

Awards:

The winners of the competition will be awarded with diplomas, statuettes and cash certificates in the amount of 500 thousand to 1 million tenge.
