Komek Stop Bullying is an IT startup from the West Kazakhstan region that leverages innovative technologies to combat bullying.

In recent years, the issue of bullying has become one of the most pressing concerns in Kazakhstan’s education system. Children and teenagers face aggression, psychological pressure, and violence, which negatively affect their emotional well-being, academic performance, and social adaptation. However, they now have real support. In 2023, the Komek Stop Bullying project was launched to combat bullying.

This digital ecosystem is designed to allow children to seek help anonymously. It all starts with a simple action—scanning a QR code on a stand in a school or public place. In an instant, their message reaches the situation center, where psychologists, lawyers, operators, and curators work. Each case is carefully analyzed, and specialists take immediate action. Artificial intelligence helps track the dynamics of the problem, while a heat map highlights areas where urgent intervention is needed.

Today, Komek Stop Bullying is already operating in nine regions of Kazakhstan, and the results speak for themselves. During the operation of the system, 3,279 requests were received from children and teenagers, QR codes were scanned more than 41,000 times. The level of bullying decreased by 40% in the project locations.

The team continued to develop the project by expanding its support to victims of domestic violence. Special QR codes placed on residential buildings allow people in difficult situations to seek help anonymously.

The project is actively supported by government institutions such as the Prosecutor’s Office, the Police Department, the Commission on Juvenile Affairs, education departments, and public organizations. In 2024, project representatives met with the General Prosecutor’s Office and State Advisor Erlan Tynymbayevich Karin to discuss ways to expand the initiative on a national level. Additionally, Komek Stop Bullying has become a resident of Jaiq Hub, which plays a key role in supporting and scaling the project. In the near future, the team aims to obtain Astana Hub residency, opening new opportunities for growth and strengthening the initiative.

Bullying remains a serious issue with severe consequences. According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Education, cases of teenage suicide are a major concern. Komek Stop Bullying is not just a response system—it is a tool that prevents violence and helps create a safe environment for children.

The future holds ambitious plans. The project will continue to expand, covering new regions and preparing for international growth, as such solutions are needed worldwide. This is more than just a startup—it is a movement that is transforming the child protection system. Together, we can safeguard the future of the younger generation and prevent bullying.
