Young Social Leaders: New Season of Beginit by inDrive Launches in Karaganda

The Beginit social and educational program, launched in Kazakhstan in 2024, has kicked off its second season in Karaganda. This initiative is focused on training young social leaders, providing schoolchildren in the Karaganda region with the opportunity to explore what it means to be a social leader. Over the course of the school year, students will learn about the qualities and skills of effective social leaders, enhance their own leadership competencies, and gain hands-on experience by participating in impactful social projects aimed at improving lives in the Karaganda region and beyond.

At a press conference held at the Terricon Valley site, project manager Elena Tropinova, senior project manager Ersain Kabdrashev, along with Terricon School Director and Head of Events at Terricon Valley, Angelina Saratovkina, discussed the potential of leadership education with local media, school teachers, parents, and community activists. They outlined the expanding scope of Beginit, which, for the 2024-2025 academic year, will operate across 10 regions of Kazakhstan and one region of Kyrgyzstan, making it an increasingly international project.

The regional tour takes place in key centers across Kazakhstan, where students from diverse rural and urban schools gather at Astana Hub’s regional offices, the project’s main partner. There, they participate in interactive workshops, gain insights into the program, and learn about social leadership and the importance of personal involvement in community development. The event includes competitive tasks designed to gauge participants’ interest in social leadership and their readiness to become agents of positive change. Through these activities, students are encouraged to develop and implement projects aimed at improving their communities.

Following the regional round, over 60% of applicants will progress to the next stage—an educational module where they will immerse themselves in social project planning and the tools of effective social leaders.
