How Startups Implement Useful Ideas with Smart City Accelerator Almaty
Smart City Accelerator is in full swing! This is a joint program of Astana Hub and Almaty Akimat, where both trackers and government agencies responsible for different areas of the city take an active part in working on projects: ecology, health care, housing, education, etc. The meetings where all three parties brainstorm are called 'board meetings'.
On October 7-8th the first board meeting was held offline. The participants of Smart City Accelerator: Med365, Uvpradom and QIoT companies met CDOs (chief digital officers) from city departments. Despite the fact that the project started a month ago, due to quarantine restrictions the meeting happened live now.
The value of offline meetings is that live communication is easier and more effective. We have received the necessary information from a representative of the city administration and we are ready to make practical steps. - shares Aigerim Nurmagambetova, CBDO of the startup "QIoT". The company is developing in telemetry, very popular area: remote monitoring and data collection based on the Internet of Things technology.
Since we have developed an automated system of medical examinations, it was very important for us to meet a representative of Almaty Health Department. Thanks to the board meeting, we are finally able to do this, and we personally met Gulnar Iskakova, director of the city branch of the "Republican Center for E-Health," says founder of Med365 Chingiz Kulakhmetov.
Similar meetings take place every two weeks as part of the accelerator program. Smart City Accelerator Almaty is a unique project, where startups use new technologies to improve life in the megacity.
