Kazakhstan's Startups Showcase Innovation at the Global Digital Trade Expo in China

The Astana Hub international technology park and four of its resident startups represented Kazakhstan at the Global Digital Trade Expo, held from September 25 to 29, 2024, in Hangzhou, China.

A total of 20 companies from Kazakhstan participated in the exhibition, including Astana Hub, the largest technology park in Central Asia, showcasing innovative solutions:
  • ApartX: A mobile application for managing daily rental properties, allowing remote control of properties using smart locks and automating bookings through Airbnb and Booking.com.

  • Smart Refueling: An electronic service that simplifies the process of refueling cars, providing corporate clients with effective tools for monitoring fuel consumption and preventing losses.

  • Jasaim Blockchain: The JasWallet project offers a crypto wallet for businesses, ensuring safe and reliable financial transactions.

  • ZIZ INC: A tech company that develops high-load information systems and provides customized tech solutions for various businesses.

The innovations from Kazakhstan's startups garnered significant interest from international participants at the exhibition. For instance, the Kazakhstan's blockchain company Jasaim Blockchain formed a strategic partnership with the Laboratory for AI-Powered Financial Technologies (AIFT) from Hong Kong to implement advanced blockchain, Web3, and fintech technologies in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. This collaboration aims to unlock new opportunities for digital transformation in sectors such as finance, education, and asset management, while also supporting international expansion.

"Our cooperation with AIFT will provide unique opportunities to bring our eDiplomas project to international markets, including for Kazakhstani students studying in Hong Kong. We also plan to launch the JasWallet project, integrating blockchain and fintech solutions for digital asset management, with AIFT's support in launching the project in Hong Kong and further expanding into the Central Asian market," said Syrym Serikov, founder of Jasaim Blockchain.

Additionally, ApartX signed a strategic agreement with the Chinese company WELOCK as part of the "airEkey Hotel Self Check-In" project. This partnership allows ApartX to expand internationally, accessing WELOCK's clients in 35 countries, including the USA, UK, EU, and Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

"We are thrilled about our launch in China and the opportunity to collaborate with WELOCK. This partnership opens up significant prospects for us in one of the largest real estate rental markets and facilitates our international expansion," said Kanat Keldibekov, founder of ApartX.

The Global Digital Trade Expo, held under the motto "Digital Trade, Global Access," attracted over 1,500 companies from 32 countries and regions, along with more than 30,000 professional buyers, including over 6,000 international participants. The Kazakh delegation, led by Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, underscored Kazakhstan's potential as a significant player in the global digital landscape and its commitment to actively integrating innovative technologies into the global economy.
