Schoolchildren from East Kazakhstan Region Participate in Qualifying Round of International Beginit Project

On September 24, the qualifying round of the international project Beginit Central Asia by inDrive took place at D. Serikbayev EKTU University in Ust-Kamenogorsk, aiming to nurture young social leaders in Kazakhstan.

Approximately 120 students from the East Kazakhstan region participated in the event. These students, representing various parts of the region, engaged in activities designed to uncover their leadership potential. They learned about the role of a social leader and the importance of developing leadership skills. Additionally, participants actively discussed ideas for social projects, shared their perspectives on solving current issues, and demonstrated their ability to work as a team.

“The Beginit project opens new doors for 10th-graders across the country, helping them develop leadership skills and implement social initiatives. Through the program, we identify teenagers with leadership potential and provide training to help them develop and implement their own projects to address challenges in their communities. The program consists of several stages: offline workshops and qualifying rounds in 10 regions of Kazakhstan, a year-long educational course, a training camp for semi-finalists in the Almaty mountains, project implementation, a final project defense, and recognition of the top participants,” said Samat Sayakov, the project coordinator.

It’s worth noting that the project is being carried out by inDrive in collaboration with Astana Hub international technology park and iQanat Foundation.

“Oskemen Hub plays an active role in nurturing IT talent and fostering innovation in the region. We have been working with the Beginit project since last year. In the previous season, students from the East Kazakhstan region achieved remarkable success. For instance, Tanur Erkinkyzy from the village of Mamai Batyr developed a project to improve her route to school, becoming a prize winner, securing an educational grant, and traveling to Malaysia. I believe we will see strong results this year as well. Oskemen Hub will continue to provide a platform where participants can meet, exchange ideas, and turn them into real projects, offering mentoring support along the way,” said Didar Muratuly, regional manager of Oskemen Hub.

The Beginit Central Asia by inDrive program will give students from the East Kazakhstan region the opportunity to take an educational course on social leadership, win educational trips abroad, receive courses to prepare for the UNT, and obtain laptops. Additionally, 20 finalists from across Kazakhstan will be invited to participate in the free Foundation Year program at inVision U University.

Last season results: More than 800 applications were submitted for the qualifying rounds. Of those, 37 students made it to the finals, with seven winners receiving grants for trips abroad, UNT preparation courses, and laptops. Eighteen participants were invited to the Foundation Year program at the innovative inVision U University.
