How online payment fiscalization is integrated into the beGateway platform — and how it works in Kazakhstan

When you launch online payments in a country where mandatory fiscalization is required, one of the first questions faced by an online payment provider for merchants or a bank is: how to ensure compliance with legislation without additional burden on the business?

At eComCharge, we have resolved this issue at the platform level itself. This year, we expanded the functionality of beGateway by adding the ability to automatically fiscalize receipts — and have already successfully implemented this solution in Kazakhstan. I share my experience.

What is fiscalization and why is it needed?

In short, this is a requirement to transfer sales data to the tax system and issue a fiscal receipt to the buyer. In many countries In Central Asia — including Kazakhstan — this is a mandatory part of any online sale to individuals.

The problem is that the implementation of fiscalization usually falls on the shoulders of the merchant himself or requires separate integration from the online payment provider. We decided to change this approach.

How fiscalization works in beGateway

Now a fiscal receipt is generated and sent to the tax service automatically — immediately after a successful transaction. What the system does:

  • generates receipt based on the order data;
  • sends send it to the tax authority through the connected fiscal data operator;
  • saves status and connection with the transaction;
  • notifies buyer by email or via a link;
  • and it even repeats sending in case of a failure (for example, if the provider is temporarily unavailable).

The process is fully automated and transparent to all parties.

Kazakhstan: the first case

We started with Kazakhstan. For our clients in the country, we have implemented integration with Buhta KZ, one of the official fiscal data operators. The solution works with card transactions.

This is especially convenient for banks and providers that work with online stores and services in the B2C segment. No separate configuration is required on the part of the merchant — everything is solved inside the platform.

We are ready to adapt fiscalization to your country.

The beGateway architecture allows you to connect any necessary fiscal provider, be it a public gateway or a private OFD, if it is officially recognized.

If you work in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia or another country where fiscalization is mandatory, we are ready to adapt the solution to local requirements.

Why would a business do that?

  • Decreasing technical and operational load.
  • Provided by legal purity and transparency.
  • Merchants It's easier to get started in accordance with the law.

This is especially true in countries where regulation and oversight of online commerce are on the rise. And there are more and more such countries.

If you are launching your own payment business or developing a fintech platform in the region, I recommend embedding fiscalization immediately into the product architecture, as we do at eComCharge for our tenants of the beGateway white-label platform. This saves time, resources and eliminates potential problems with the regulator in the future.

I believe in your success!
