AI risks (local and global). Part 2. The price of intellectual convenience

Friends and colleagues, I would like to continue thinking about the active introduction of artificial intelligence and the risks associated with it. I want to make a reservation right away: I am not an opponent of AI and I see the huge potential of this technology. However, I am alarmed by the speed with which AI is being implemented everywhere, without a comprehensive assessment of the potential, both pros and cons.

I am particularly concerned about one question that I want to raise: how does the widespread adoption of AI affect humans and their mental abilities?

This concern has arisen and continues to strengthen, especially during contacts with representatives of the "generation Z".

Of course, you can't cut everyone's hair in one piece, but I personally notice how many young (and then not only young) people's mental abilities are changing, especially in terms of analyzing information and storing it in memory for a long time.

After all, this generation (Z) was born and raised in the world of digital services and assistants. Communication applications, solutions for studying, doing homework, solving school problems, and playing games are all their daily environment.

And in my opinion, the active use of such tools, and now the development of AI, leads to the fact that the human brain begins to save energy.

After all, why memorize and comprehend information if it is always at hand? You can get answers to any questions in a matter of minutes. And, our body, created by the way very perfect, does the most obvious thing - it saves energy on brain activity and activity.

What can this lead to (or is it already leading to)? Weaker memory, decreased ability to analyze, loss of independence, passivity - these trends are likely to intensify with each new generation.

What do you think about it? Have you noticed similar changes? Do you consider this risk to be real?
