A unique series of events organized by Astana Hub and the Digital Nomads community is taking place in all regions of Kazakhstan. What is Digital Nomads? This is a community of Kazakhstani information technology specialists working for technology giants abroad. Currently, it includes more than four hundred Kazakhstanis who live and work in the United States, as well as in Europe and Asia. The purpose of this community is not only to use the accumulated experience for the development of the global IT community, but also to contribute to the development of the Kazakh IT industry.

Almaty Ecology Tech Challenge

The culmination of the Digital Nomads initiative was the Almaty Ecology Tech Challenge, dedicated to solving environmental problems in Almaty using IT technologies. The final of the competition was held on May 10, where the winners were announced:

The first place was taken by the MEMs team with the DemALL project, which is an innovative photocatalytic paint for air purification.

Zharkyn's team with the Smart Trash Bin project also took the first place, offering an AI-based smart trash bin system.

The second place was taken by the Winners team with the AirWay project, creating a plugin for websites that generates environmental reports.

The third place was awarded to the Quality4Air team with a project on ecomodernization of technical inspection.
