Web development is one of the most sought—after professions of our time, which makes it possible to create products that are in demand in business and opens the way to a successful career in it. Mastering this profession from scratch or increasing the level of knowledge has become a reality thanks to the Tech Horde program from Astana.

The Heron Programming School has been participating in this educational program for the third year, providing an opportunity to take a web development course on a grant.

The course is designed for people with different levels of training. Regardless of whether you have programming experience or are just starting out, the program provides all the necessary knowledge: from the basics to working with more complex tools. At the moment, the 14th academic week is already underway, and students have begun to get acquainted with new tools that are actively used in web development. In addition to the basic HTML code and CSS that students learn using Sass, there is a preprocessor for CSS, which simplifies writing code, and a GIT version control system that allows you to work effectively with projects and save their changes. The training is organized as conveniently as possible.

Classes are held once a week for two hours, where theory is immediately supported by practice. During the first two months, students studied basic layout: how to create the appearance of pages and adapt them to different devices. For example, students have developed a landing page that has been adapted for computers, tablets and phones. Over the next two months, students began to learn new tools. Working with GIT has taught them how to manage versions of their projects, and using Cass makes it easier to organize code styles, create templates and variables that simplify the development of large projects. Students have also moved from simple one-page websites to creating multi-page applications. The group is currently working on creating an online store, the final project that will be used for further study of the JavaScript language. This project not only helps to develop skills, but also becomes an excellent portfolio for future employers. Using the example of an online store, students learn not only to prepare the appearance of the site, but also to think through the logic that will be incorporated into the functionality. This includes creating counters, switches, and other interface elements that display the necessary information to users.

The web development course within the Tech Orda program is not just a training course, but an opportunity to build a career in IT. You will gain in-demand skills that will allow you to feel confident in a professional environment, and take the first step towards working in one of the most dynamic industries.
