TOIMART: 3.2% growth in RTO since StorexPM

TOIMART, one of the market leaders in Kazakhstan, has implemented the StorexPM tool and solved daily operational tasks: availability of goods on the shelf, promotion management, control of performance discipline. The actual result of digitizing operational tasks is a 3.2% increase in RTO after three months of StorexPM implementation.

TOIMART operates a network of 40 stores. Specializes in the sale of food and consumer goods. It is part of the SABYRZHAN holding company together with the Sabtrade distribution company (cooperates with 60+ global manufacturers, as well as the Darinan bakery).

The trading network has focused on finding a system that will take over the functions of controlling top products, managing promotions in the trading floor, as well as monitoring performance discipline.

The TOIMART team identified key areas of work and compiled a list of priority tasks:

— automated control of the availability of top products

— digitalization of the control of revaluations and the implementation of POR

— dynamic KPI tracking for ordinary store staff and managers

StorexPM has withstood high competition in the market of digital assistants for retail, and a visit to one of the retail chains that successfully works with the platform served as a starting point for the start of the project.

Manual process management led to a lack of a complete information picture of operational processes. Decisions took a long time to make, and late monitoring of tasks led to delayed financial losses.

An analysis of the situation showed that, first of all, the following StorexPM blocks need to be implemented:

— Control the availability of goods on the shelf through automatic prompts to solve problems with the key assortment

 — Management of promotions and regular reassessments

— Manual creation of tasks for current processes in the store with tracking of results

— KPI panel: plan/fact, store ratings and more

— Reporting for the store director and supervisor

— Transparent control of performance discipline with details before each action

The pilot project and scaling to the entire network took 3 months, and the economic effect of + 3.2% left no doubt about the effectiveness of the StorexPM mobile assistant.

In 3 months, we managed to fully digitize key operational processes and record the following results:

— Monitoring the availability of goods on the shelf reduced the average time of absence of goods from 7 to 3 days and accelerated sales of the top assortment by 4 days

— Fast identification of virtual balances allowed to restore sales 9 days earlier

 — Working with goods without movement has reduced the average downtime by 25 days

— Promo control revealed that 6% of positions are not ready for promotions due to incorrect price tags and re-sorting

The task of improving performance discipline was achieved by 99.9%. This became possible with the use of checklists, auto-stories and high-quality employee training.

The TOIMART team noted that the flexibility of TOIMART's functionality and interface made it possible to solve a number of specific distribution tasks. For example, store directors track KPIs for sales of brands that the holding works with.

The further development of StorexPM in the TOIMART retail network will launch the digitalization of the following processes:

— control over additional promo sales locations

— verification of compliance with the planograms

— scheduled tasks

A separate major stage will be the digitalization of in-house production processes with a target result of up to +15% of the total due to control of production processes, availability, shelf life and release planning.
