Yandex Qazaqstan announces the launch of the Technology Center for Society, a new initiative aimed at supporting socially significant projects in Kazakhstan. The center will bring together representatives of the Kazakh scientific research community with Yandex Cloud technologies and expertise in order to solve tasks important to society faster and more efficiently. 

The Technology Center for Society supports projects in four areas: science and education, healthcare, ecology, and culture. Applications for participation are accepted from scientific organizations, universities, research teams, students of technical specialties, developers and businesses. The center provides expert assistance to projects, access to Yandex Cloud Cloud technologies and machine learning tools, as well as resources to promote solutions.

The Center's priority is projects that can improve the quality of life in Kazakhstan and have the potential to scale. The Center's team has experience and expertise in the implementation of such projects. These include a project to recognize snow leopards using neural networks, which simplifies the work of scientists and allows them to develop more effective measures to protect the population, as well as a technology for monitoring emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, which helps industrial enterprises control emissions of technical gases and react faster in case of accidents and leaks. Among the projects in the field of healthcare is a neural network for detecting the rare pathology of spina bifida in early pregnancy.
