25 foreign IT companies have become residents of Astana Hub since the beginning of the year

Since 2019, Astana Hub has been cooperating with foreign IT companies and attracting them as participants (residents) of the technopark. Foreign startups with the help of Astana Hub receive tax preferences, a simplified visa regime, PR promotion, access to the IT community and international investors. Thus, the process of adaptation to the local market is faster and easier.

Since the beginning of 2021, a record number of foreign participants have joined Astana Hub - 25 IT companies have become part of the technopark ecosystem and are now developing their startups in Kazakhstan. They currently have over 130 employees and plan to hire 306 more in the near future.

Among the “newcomers” are representatives of such countries as Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Israel, UAE, South Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, Great Britain, USA.

One of them is the Kyrgyz company Ozim Scooters, the first electric scooter rental network in Central Asia. Residents of Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent must have noticed bright scooters on the streets of the city. A well-thought-out business model and the experience of the team made it possible to successfully launch the service in July 2020, despite the quarantine measures introduced against the backdrop of the COVID-19 epidemic. Within the first month, the company reached self-sufficiency. In March 2021, the company launched the service in Shymkent, and in April - in the capital. Ozim Scooters has its own IT platform and mobile applications, and is constantly working to improve it.

Another participant is a startup from the UK - Salemix, a new generation platform for video content in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Features of Salemix - focus on original content, a large multilingual library, regional translations. Salemix's technology partner is Ericsson. The company is present in nine countries and also uses Ericsson's technical and operational presence in more than 140 countries.

“Foreign IT companies are showing increasing interest in Kazakhstan. We expect that by the end of the year, more new participants from foreign countries will appear among the residents of Astana Hub. We have a number of programs that will be of interest to startups from all over the world, and we are constantly working to ensure that the working conditions at Astana Hub are attractive,” said Magzhan Madiyev, CEO of Astana Hub.

We invite everyone who is open for cooperation, development and exchange of experience! You can read more about the conditions of residency in Astana Hub here.
