Since May 20, Kazakhstan has been included in the list of countries that have access to direct registration on the site. Entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized businesses have the opportunity to trade on this site and conduct all their operations through local banks.

“We have completed negotiations with Amazon that began in November last year. And finally, since May 20, our country has been included in the list of "allowed" on one of the largest e-commerce platforms in the world. The main problem of access to Amazon for our businessmen was the need to become “part of” the allowed countries: that is, to open a legal entity and a bank account in these countries to conduct all operations on the site. But now we have eliminated these difficulties, ”the minister said.

To register in the online store, you must submit a copy of your passport, a valid credit card, bank account, phone number and information about tax deductions. It should be noted that the list also includes Central Asian countries: Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

“For us, this is very important! Amazon is one of the most popular platforms out there. Hundreds of millions of active customers in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide. And, curiously, sellers of only 188 countries are registered. It is very important that Amazon opens the way for small and medium businesses - 60% of all retail sales of the marketplace are made by 1.9 million small and medium enterprises. Last year, Amazon net sales amounted to $386.1 billion,” Bakhyt Sultanov added.

“Our entrepreneurs had to register a legal entity in other countries and sell on this platform in difficult ways. The Ministry of Trade and Integration, together with the Amazon team, did a great job. This is the process of negotiations, logistics, technical improvements to the platform. And we are proud to announce that finally Kazakhstan is on the list of allowed countries, Kazakh entrepreneurs can directly sell their goods globally,” commented Asel Zhanasova, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Recall that all participants of the international technopark of IT start-ups Astana Hub receive tax preferences. Preferences exempt participants from paying taxes such as CIT, VAT, VAT on imports of goods, royalty tax, PIT and social tax for non-residents. Such a measure of state support allows IT companies to reinvest the saved funds in the development of their projects.
