Astana Hub and Women in Tech Kazakhstan Join Forces to Address Barriers for Women Founders

Astana Hub in collaboration with Women in Tech Kazakhstan chapter, hosted an online facilitation session dedicated to identifying and addressing the challenges faced by women founders in Kazakhstan’s startup ecosystem.

The session brought together key stakeholders, including women entrepreneurs, representatives of venture capital firms, and institutional players, to provide a comprehensive perspective on the barriers limiting women-led startups. This was a unique case where all three IT innovation hubs of the country - Astana Hub, MOST Business Intelligence and Terricon Valley, investors, female founders, and a special guest — Silkroad Innovation Hub — came together around a shared agenda and exchanged ideas.

Participants shared their experiences, discussed the structural challenges they encounter, and proposed actionable solutions to foster a more inclusive and equitable IT landscape.

This event marks the beginning of a larger initiative aimed at supporting women founders, enhancing access to funding, and driving meaningful change in Kazakhstan’s technology sector. Astana Hub and Women in Tech Kazakhstan Female Founders track remain committed to fostering a thriving and diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem, ensuring that women-led startups receive the recognition and support they deserve.
