Astana Hub transfers experience to the regions: 13 regions of Kazakhstan have passed the incubation program

International technopark of IT start-ups Astana Hub summed up the results of a 6-week incubation program in the regions of Kazakhstan

In total, startup projects of 13 cities took part in the program: Aktau, Pavlodar, Kyzylorda, Kostanay, Atyrau, Almaty, Shyment, Taldykorgan, Kokshetau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Turkestan, Taraz, Uralsk. From each region, 15 startup projects with a technological solution were trained. During the incubation period, startups created 193 jobs. “Our main goal was to break the ice in the regions of Kazakhstan and create a start-up movement there. To do this, we have created a program that would help projects in the regions find a working model and understand what IT startups are, introduce them to the basic concepts and approaches, and lay the foundation. This was our first step in the development of technological entrepreneurship in the regions of Kazakhstan, and it went well: the regions did an excellent job, responsive. Now we will support this vector, this is one of the priority tasks of Astana Hub for now – to create and develop a critical mass of technology entrepreneurs throughout Kazakhstan,” said Zhanibek Malika, director of the Astana Hub programs department. According to the press service of Astana Hub, weekly meetings were held with each startup with business trackers, who helped the project build the right business model, test hypotheses, find its target audience, and build a working marketing plan. In addition, general workshops and consultations were held (50 hours in each region), which explained how IT startups work, what metrics and approaches should be used.
