Kostanay Schoolchildren Participate in Selection Round of International Project

On October 4, the selection round of the international project Beginit Central Asia by inDrive was held at the Qostanai IT Hub. The program aims to nurture a new generation of social leaders in Kazakhstan, offering students the chance to develop social leadership skills and implement initiatives to address local issues over the school year.

Beginit provides high-quality education, with a focus on supporting talented students from Kazakhstan's regions. This season, the program extends to 10 regions across the country, opening up new opportunities for tenth-graders to cultivate leadership competencies and turn ideas into actionable projects.

The event brought together approximately 130 students from the Kostanay region, along with their parents, teachers, participants and winners from last season, Qostanai Hub regional manager Damir Mnaidarov, and project coordinator Samat Sayakov.

At a press conference, Sayakov emphasized, “The Beginit Central Asia by inDrive program is tailored for tenth-graders, teaching them how to conduct research and implement meaningful projects. We work individually with each participant, offering mentoring support. Last year, students mapped routes from home to school and launched projects to improve them. Notably, more than a dozen students from the Kostanay region reached the finals. We not only teach social leadership skills but also provide material resources for comprehensive development. Finalists who perform well may be invited to the Foundation Year program at inVision U University, with opportunities for educational trips abroad, UNT preparatory courses, and laptops.”

During the selection round, students from different parts of the region engaged in tasks designed to identify leadership potential, learned about the role of a social leader, and explored the importance of these skills. They actively discussed ideas for social projects, shared their perspectives on addressing current issues, and completed test questions, which will determine who advances to the next stage.

Students who pass the selection will join an educational module where they will learn the principles of social leadership and the importance of active participation in community life. They will develop and present ideas aimed at improving living conditions in their cities and villages and will have the chance to visit Astana Hub’s regional innovation centers, a key partner in the project.

“The Beginit project has been running in our region for two years, and interest among students is steadily growing. Last year, around 120 people participated in the selection round at our venue, and the number continues to increase. We are also actively developing Qostanai Hub; since December, we’ve held more than 80 events with over 1,600 participants. Our GameDev center trains 50 students in game development, preparing them as junior developers within five months. At the Samsung Innovation Campus, 40 students study programming languages such as Python and Java at no cost. We aren’t just holding events—we’re building and nurturing a local tech and startup community,” said Damir Mnaidarov, regional manager of Qostanai Hub.

The Beginit Central Asia by inDrive program offers students a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, innovation-focused community of young social leaders, equipping them with a range of skills and tools to bring social initiatives to life.
