From Silicon Valley to Singapore: How Kazakhstanis Are Building Global Tech Hubs
In celebration of Nauryz, Astana Hub is highlighting the global tech hubs led by Kazakhstanis that are opening new doors for Central Asian startups. These international platforms help innovation-driven companies access global markets, secure investment, and build valuable partnerships.

Today, tech hubs founded by Kazakhstanis are successfully operating in the United States, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. These centers provide startups from the region with mentorship, access to venture capital, and accelerator programs to support global scaling.
"International tech hubs have become powerful platforms for Central Eurasian startups to enter the global stage. Since 2024, these hubs—founded by our compatriots abroad—have supported over 200 startups, hosted more than 1,000 events, and engaged over 2,500 participants worldwide. Together, we’re building infrastructure that not only boosts IT exports but also attracts investment: 157 venture capitalists are now part of our global hub network, and over 60 strategic meetings have been held. These results reflect the growing global interest in technologies emerging from our region," said Magzhan Madiyev, CEO of Astana Hub.
One of the most prominent examples is Silkroad Innovation Hub, launched in 2023 by Aset Abdualiyev (Kazakhstan) and Asror Arabzhanov (Uzbekistan). The hub helps startups from Central Eurasia enter global markets by running accelerator and educational programs and supporting fundraising through the Silkroad Angel Club and Silkroad Venture Fund.
“We hosted the first-ever tech conference focused on the region outside its borders—Central Eurasia @ Silicon Valley 2024—and we regularly represent the region at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco. In 2024, our Silkroad Startup Alley was the largest to date, featuring 24 startups from four countries. We’re proud that Silkroad Innovation Hub is becoming a key bridge between Central Eurasia and Silicon Valley, and we believe in the global potential of our entrepreneurs,” said Asset Abdualiyev, founder and CEO of Silkroad Innovation Hub.
In Saudi Arabia, Al-Farabi Innovation Hub—founded by Aslan Sultanov in Riyadh in March 2024—is the first Central Asian tech hub in the Kingdom. Its mission is to connect entrepreneurs from Central Asia and the Caucasus with the Saudi market. The hub provides comprehensive support, including legal services, investment facilitation, and tailored accelerator programs. Through the Al-Farabi Scaleup initiative, held in partnership with Plug and Play, 10 startups completed a training program, and 3 have already secured preliminary funding from Saudi investors. Al-Farabi Innovation Hub also contributes to Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to attract up to $5 million in foreign investment annually, bring up to 30 startups from the region to market, and foster digital transformation through tech-driven projects.
In Singapore, the Nomadiq Innovation Hub, established by Olzhas Zhienkulov and Talgat Kantayev, focuses on providing investment and strategic support to early-stage startups. One of its flagship initiatives, Scalerator, accelerates high-potential startups by providing access to resources typically reserved for larger enterprises. Over the past year, the hub has supported six startups with funding, financial modeling, and international business development.
In the United Kingdom, Eurasian Hub, founded by Nurdaulet Bazylbekov in London with backing from regional partners and global companies such as Google, Antler, and Nebius, connects startup founders and tech professionals from the CIS. Since its launch in October 2024, the hub has hosted more than 40 events, drawing participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and the U.S. Most recently, Eurasian Hub Ventures was launched, and its first investment went to a Kazakhstani startup accepted into Y Combinator.
Beyond startup development, these international tech hubs also play an important cultural role. Central Asian diaspora communities regularly organize events celebrating Nauryz and other regional traditions, fostering cultural exchange and strengthening national identity abroad.
By expanding their presence globally, Kazakhstan-led tech hubs are building robust bridges between Central Eurasia and the world’s leading innovation centers. These efforts go beyond geography—they’re cultivating global recognition for the region’s tech talent and preserving cultural heritage through international collaboration and community engagement.

Хороший пример того, как локальные инициативы могут трансформироваться в мощную международную сеть. Особенно радует, что хабы дают не только доступ к финансам, но и сохраняют культурную идентичность региона 🇰🇿🤝🌏
