Astana City Administration and Astana Hub Organize Pitch Day for Innovative IT Solutions
The city administration of Astana, in collaboration with Astana Hub, hosted Pitch Day to identify practical IT solutions ready for implementation to enhance infrastructure and the quality of life for residents. Over 100 applications were submitted in partnership with the international technopark Astana Hub, from which 10 IT projects were selected for participation in the sixth Pitch Day.
The event was attended by Kanat Tuleushin, the First Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Jenis Kasymbek, the Mayor of Astana, and Magzhan Madiyev, the CEO of Astana Hub.
"The city is growing and needs new services and solutions. That's why we need IT solutions from our young startups. No idea presented today will be overlooked. We will carefully examine all the projects, and within a week, we will meet with each of you again. If there is a need to start a project in a school or a medical institution in a pilot mode, this work will commence. Additionally, I propose that startups work in the communal sphere. We have communal enterprises, and there are many problems that need solutions. We are ready to discuss this topic in detail and fund the proposed IT solutions," noted Mayor Jenis Kasymbek.
All projects that submitted applications have different focuses, including education, healthcare, housing and communal services (ЖКХ), safety, and transportation. The projects are anticipating networking opportunities and interaction with city structures.
"In developed countries, various hackathons and pitch sessions are also practiced, where government bodies and national companies outline their main problems and questions that can be addressed through technology. We agreed with the city administration that within a week, we will receive the city's top 10 problematic issues. Within three months, we must solve them using our innovative technological ideas," explained Kanat Tuleushin, the First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Pitch Day featured presentations of the following projects:
- Управдом (Upravdom) – a digital ecosystem for residents, homeowners' associations, and housing cooperatives.
- Oqylyq – a platform encompassing a system for distance learning and testing, synchronous, asynchronous, and automated proctoring.
- Alaqan Mektep – a unified ecosystem for schools built on patented palm vein biometrics.

Today marks the sixth Pitch Day, providing young entrepreneurs the opportunity not only to showcase their ideas but also to receive support from government authorities in realizing their projects.
