Decentrathon 2.0: Kazakhstan's largest hackathon ended with the triumph of young East Kazakhstan Region innovators in the field of blockchain

On October 18-19, 2024, the republican hackathon Decentrathon 2.0 took place, the largest IT competition in Kazakhstan, organized by the Blockchain & AI Technology Center and Astana Hub. The prize fund of the event was $50,000, and one of the key venues for the event was the Oskemen hub— the first regional IT hub of the East Kazakhstan region (East Kazakhstan region).

Decentrathon 2.0: Mission and scale of the event The hackathon brought together more than 2,500 participants from all 17 regions of Kazakhstan, as well as from the cities of Astana and Almaty. The main goal of the competition is to provide young IT professionals with resources, knowledge and support for the development of innovative start-ups and entrepreneurial initiatives.

For 48 hours, the teams worked on creating new technological solutions aimed at solving current problems and developing promising products.

According to the results of the hackathon, the DOGS team and its captain Alexander Komagorov, a talented blockchain developer and startup, took the first place. It is noteworthy that Alexander is the first graduate of the Startup Garage incubation program from Oskemen hub, which underlines the high level of training and effectiveness of this program.

One of the striking projects presented at the hackathon was the LIFT platform, a unique micro-learning system with Code-2-Earn mechanics and personalized recommendations. LIFT provides developers with the opportunity to master smart contracts and blockchain technologies by completing tasks and participating in contests. As a reward for successfully completing courses and tests, users receive tokens, which makes the learning process not only useful, but also profitable.

Decentrathon 2.0 has become an important step in the development of Kazakhstan's IT ecosystem, providing young professionals with the opportunity to express themselves and contribute to the future of the country's digital technologies.
