In today's world, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies have become an integral part of successful business operations. Companies that have relied on these areas are not only coping with economic challenges, but also achieving impressive financial results, significantly surpassing their competitors.

Investing in AI and digitalization is more than just a trend. This is a strategic decision that allows us to innovate and create new business lines.

For example, in sectors such as retail, energy, and insurance, technology-led companies are showing marked superiority. In the field of consumer goods, companies that have integrated AI demonstrate a three-fold advantage in total returns for shareholders compared to laggards.

Why is this important?

To better understand how the use of AI and digital technologies affects companies' financial results, I have prepared an infographic based on S&P 500 data for the period 2018-2022 (see below).

The infographic shows the results for key sectors:

• Insurance: The leaders in digitalization and AI show an increase of 6.7%, which is 6.1 times higher than the results of the laggards.

• Consumer sector: Here, the leaders outnumber the laggards by 2.9 times, with a result of 9.4% versus 3.2%.
• Energy and materials: The leaders show an increase of 11.6%, which is 2.3 times more than the laggards.

For Kazakhstan, where the development of the digital economy is a national priority, this experience is especially relevant. The integration of AI and digital technologies into the business processes of Kazakhstani companies can become a powerful catalyst for growth and increased competitiveness in the international arena.

In conclusion, technology is not just tools, it is the key to success in the modern world. And the sooner companies start implementing them, the more opportunities they will have in the future.
