Ekaterina Logvinovna Yushchenko (1919-2001)  She was an outstanding Ukrainian scientist and the founder of theoretical programming in the Soviet Union. Her biography reflects the difficulties of the Soviet era, but also highlights her great contribution to the development of science and programming.

Born on December 8, 1919, Ekaterina Logvinovna faced difficult times in her life. The arrest of her father and mother in 1937 created difficult circumstances for her family. However, she was able to overcome difficulties and find her vocation in science.

Her contribution to theoretical programming was significant. She worked on the first programs for the first continental computer at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under the leadership of Sergei Alekseevich Lebedev. This was an important step in the development of computer science in the Soviet Union.

Ekaterina Logvinovna Yushchenko has achieved outstanding results in her career. She was a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Scientist, laureate of the USSR Council of Ministers Prize and twice awarded the State Prize of Ukraine, as well as the V.M.Glushkov Prize.

The scientific school of theoretical programming created by Yushchenko has become widely known not only in Ukraine, but also abroad. Her contribution has influenced the development of programming and computer science in the region.

In 2001, Ekaterina Logvinovna Yushchenko passed away, leaving her mark on the history of science and programming. Her scientific legacy and contributions to the field of theoretical programming continue to inspire and delight scientists around the world.
