The Defense Tech hackathon recently concluded at Astana Hub, the international tech park in Astana.
Astana Hub, in collaboration with Google for Startups, has opened applications for the sixth batch of the Silkway Accelerator – the leading growth-stage tech accelerator in Central Asia. The regional IT hub in the West Kazakhstan region has announced a rebranding: as of today, Jaiq Hub is officially becoming Batys Hub. Established in March 2023, the hub has been a driving force behind the development of technological entrepreneurship in the region from its very first days.
At the international technology forum Eurasia Technology Week, held from April 17–19 in Turkey, the alliance of Astana Hub and IT Park Uzbekistan, under the joint brand Central Asian Innovation Hubs, presented ten innovative startups from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Kazakhstan-based AI startup Cybernet AI, a resident of Astana Hub, has secured over $350,000 in grant support and joined the global Microsoft for Startups program. This initiative targets promising tech companies with proven B2B traction, offering access to Microsoft technologies and new growth opportunities on the global stage.
Training one million Kazakhstanis in artificial intelligence skills is a strategic initiative of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Over the next five years, the plan is to reach 500,000 schoolchildren, 300,000 university students, 90,000 civil servants, 80,000 business professionals, and thousands of citizens from other fields. The goal is to shape a generation capable of creating and applying technology — not just consuming it. This was announced by Daniya Akhmetova, Managing Director of the “Park of Innovative Technologies” ACF, during a press conference at the Central Communications Service.
